COSSMA was founded in 1987 as a private non-profit organization. In the 60’ health care services were provided exclusively to migrant and seasonal farmworkers and their families residing in one of the municipalities of the Caguas Health Region. These are, Cidra, Caguas, Aguas Buenas, Cayey, Aibonito, Gurabo, San Lorenzo, Juncos, Las Piedras, Maunabo, Naguabo, Yabucoa and Humacao.
In 1995 COSSMA expanded it’s services to the general public, responding to the inset of Managed Care/Health Care Reform.
